April Showers? My ass.

The anticipation is killing me! I want to move already. Thanks and praise be to God, who has provided us with an immaculate home in Hamtramck (an amazing city surrounded by Detroit) that we've been living in for 14 years now. I grew up in this home and there are so many memories. I will truly miss it but still want to move.
I want to move to our new house in Warren, the third largest suburb in Michigan. We bought the house last year for almost $85,000. So why move you maybe asking?

The house is a lot newer, has better insulation, looks and is very clean, and is close to all the malls and stores.
However, the most important reason is because I want to live in a modern American manner with a desi (Indian, Bengali, Pakistani) twist. I sort of want to live the American dream. Of course, I can do the same thing to the House I'm currently in, but its not worth it. The house was built in 1924 and is almost 3,000 sqft (includes upstairs). But the house has very poor insulation and a roof that needs fixing every year. I don't mind, but I do think its time we move on.

We've been looking for a house in the suburbs for almost 7 years until we found one last year. Originally, we were looking in the Troy, Madison Heights, and Sterling Heights area. But after looking at so many Damn houses, we decided on a cozy flat house (oddly called a Ranch house). Sort of reminded me of the houses they have down in California. The house barely needed any work done to it.

Right now, we have a guy Renting out the place for $1,000 a month until his 20 month contact is up and its our time to move in. It was a smart move for us to let the guy rent out the place. It sort of pays off the house and insurance bill. We will move in the summer of 2013 before going to London and Bangladesh for a family visitation/vacation.Anywho, before there are any more tangents, lets get back to the reason I want to move.I want to make the inside look like as if an American family lived there, but still having some deep Islamic and Desi roots.

These can be expressed through paintings, pictures, and figurines. But the American part will be important to me. I feel like I'm an American first before Bengali sometimes. I grew up here and don't remember much of my first 2½ years of life in Bangladesh. My idea of an American style home is having a theme throughout each room of the house. Elegant, traditional, country, and modern are just examples. I want to do a contemporary and sofisticated theme. That means large mirrors with frames in the dining room, candles with large holders stationary on the dining room table and shelves. Matching picture frames! Dear lord! Almost every Bengali house I've been to never have matching wall picture frames, matching furniture, or even a legit theme. I want the family room to look elegant.

It has a stone art fireplace and a doorwall leading to a patio. The floors are hardwood and the space is kind of open in the room. As for the hall, it will have family portraits and accent decors such as mirrors and candle holders. The livingroom will have a contemporary look to it. The kitchen will be modern looking. Large white cabinets covering three walls, and a counter that goes around in a U shape. The stove is a flat surface electric style one. So it has a lot of potential.

That's it for this post. My next post will be about May and Past Vacations. Lol!

My Late March Post... Sorry

Happy March!
A step closer to spring and graduation day, huzzah. Can't wait to get out of this hell hole of a school. I feel bad for some of these teachers. They have to deal with these idiotic kids. Dear God! They're all animals! I don't know how they can handle being with them. Hell, I leave after fourth period. These kids are so stubborn and rude. Half of them smell like shit and the other dont speak English.

Capstone Proposal letters have been submitted and now we're in some deep capstone shit. Hopefully, I can get it all done this month :) The English teacher is planning on giving a final semester quiz, but little does she know that the capstone itself is 40% of our semester grade for English.

Ugh, and now Wayne States bitch ass is requiring me to submit some shit to them. I only have 4 more days left. FUUUUUUUUKHHH!

Anywho, that's all for this post. My next post will be super sized and about Moving and an Anticipated Desi-American life style.

Februaric Days

My Capstone Project has officially started. That means all hell has been let loose in the senior class. Some of us have already started on it and are working on it like headless chickens. There are a few who still don't know which topic to chose or what to do theirs on.

I have chosen to do something I enjoy. Not necessarily as a career but as a hobby and a side thingy in the future. And as for February - I finally made my drivers licence today! :D the certificates been sitting on the table for like a month now -____- oh well, at least now I don't need to drive illegally. Now as for my car .... lets not talk too much of it. All I need to say are these words: Very Old 1993 Toyota Corolla. Yeah yeah, you get the picture. Now the brightside: I can finally apply for a PAYING JOB. Don't get me wrong, the job I have now is awesome! Executive Administrative Assistant and Directer of Public Relations. The only problem is that its a nonprofit organization and I don't get paid. But it truly does look good on my resume.

First Post of 2012

Well, looks like it's been forever since I've last blogged**

Its been quite a few months. Senior year is really getting into action. I just wanted to say that I have seen one of the most graphic things in my life. A few days ago, I saw a man on the street - who was involved in a hit and run accident. There was a giant pool of blood around his head. We were all hoping that he is just unconscious and will be better soon, but found out an hour or two later that he had been confirmed dead.

As for school, my semester grade didnt look so good because of the stupid Pre-calculus class and because of Anatomy class. I think I scored low because of the teacher being super hard on us. He was a great teacher though. Math was never really my thing. Although I do try.

Now that I have the school Yearbook to help complete and my own Capstone assignment, I will be very busy for the next few weeks. For now, I'm just waiting for May to come already. I want to get out of High School already and start living life. Get a job, buy a car, go places, spend money, go to college, and get the best job one could want. *Sigh*. Then again, I want to cherish these moments I have in High school.

I'm getting mixed feelings now.

Happy November!

Hey everyone! Happy November, Happy Thanksgiving, and Happy Birthday to me. Lol. Thanksgiving went awesome this year. We had a giant Turkey, Mac’n Cheese, Gravy, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Stew, Corn, Apple Pie, and Ice-creame. :) Everything home made during noon. Damn that oven was on for soooo long. But now, we’re having a Post-Thanksgiving dinner party for family on this upcoming Sunday. I’ve already decided on the menu - A Turkey with a Desi twist. It will have Tandoori marinade and different kinds of spices. Then I will have a chicken and bean soup. Then some Biryani. And those are the main stuff. We will still have the side things like mashed potatoes, and Corn Bread Stuffing.

My Birthday is coming up this week :D Woohoo. That means I can start my PhotoDiary. I will take a picture everyday, and have a description. That photo will resemble the highlight of my day. :D

Also - I got accepted to Wayne State University! Yay! Now, time to ditch the University of Michigan and drop my admission there. Wish me luck.

My Future -- Explained

So a lot of people ask me "what are you gonna be in your life?". Hmmm... I will give an answer but I cant guarantee that it will go as planned.

Well, lets start off with education.
I will graduate this upcoming June (2012). I have applied to the university of Michigan, got accepted, received the scholarship, but my ass still ain't going there. Too much driving, very confusing campus, and classes are advanced. I've decided to go to Wayne state university for my undergraduate studies. ♥ their tuition is lower, quality education, and in downtown Detroit. I wanted a degree in public health, but non of these colloges offer it as an undergraduate course =\ UofM doesn't have a single thing I wanna go into. I've decided to major in health sciences with human nutrition. That way, when I go for my masters in public health, I'll have some background knowledge.  So there we go. Graduation from FIA, Wayne State University for an undergraduates degree in Nutrition. Then to another university for my masters and most likely (98% sure) for PhD.

Now, I'm not gonna be in Michigan my whole life... duh! My career will require a lot of traveling. Once I get my degree, I will sign up with the Red Cross or Peace Corps or some nonprofit relief corporation and travel to developing/underdeveloped nations to provide health services. Once I get my masters, I will work with UNICEF and take on a research position in another country.

But focusing more after receiving my bachelors.
The job I wish to take on after my bachelors is Health Counseling. ;) but not in Michigan. This will require a really populated city. And hehe, if your thinking New York City, then your ass thought right! I want to live in an apartment in Manhattan (kind of expensive, but not with a roommate). This will cost about $2-3,000 dollars a month for a two bedroom rental. Its aiite ;) you get paid like that in new York too :P health counseling jobs usually take place at clinics and hospitals. And we all know there are hundreds of them there.

Now lets fast forward!--
I've comeback from an assignment from Senegal or even India. What do I do know?
Aside from NYC, I've always wanted to live in LA. And that I shall do! But-- I will have my own company there too! A Health Clinic with a Health store (like GNC or Walgreens). With a heavy population, I will get a lot of people coming in. This will give the opportunity to open up other branches in other places. I shall receive grants and become sponsored so that my company can keep growing and provide service.
Those are my educational and career aspirations.
